一面に花がちりばめられた柄の手帳カバー。コンドウアキさんに手帳カバーの絵をお願いしたとき、「ぜひ描いてみたかった」と選んでくださったモチーフです。

穏やかなペールミントの地に咲く黄色や赤の花は、とってもファンシーなタッチ。どこかなつかしい感じもするかわいくて素朴なこの花々を見ていると、やさしい気持ちになれそうです。水彩ならではのタッチや絵の具のにじみ具合も、おおきな魅力。

「ファブリックが好き」というコンドウさん。最初はこのカバーもダブルガーゼでできたら、と話し合っていました。１年毎日使う手帳カバーとしての耐久性や汚れにくさ、またきれいに縫製できることも考慮した結果、ダブルガーゼのような風合いの、目の細かなポリエステル地に。絵のふんわりとした雰囲気をより楽しんでいただけるようなやさしい感触の生地です。

内側とバタフライストッパー、しおりはフレッシュな黄緑です。

This techo cover features flowers scattered all around. When we asked Kondo if she could draw a design for a cover, she chose this motif saying it was something she had always wanted to draw.

The yellow and red flowers that bloom in a calming pale mint field has a fancy touch. It’s soothing to look at these flowers that have a somewhat nostalgic feel to it. The smudges of paint and brush strokes that are unique to watercolor adds to the charm.

Kondo talked to us on her love of fabrics, and we initially discussed how a double gauze fabric would be perfect for this cover. In the end, we decided on a fine polyester material that has a texture similar to a double gauze to ensure its durability and so that it will seam nicely. The soft texture matches the atmosphere of the drawing of this cover.

The interior, pen holders and bookmarks are a fresh light green.
